BAPHR has been awarding grants to non-profit agencies in the Bay Area nine-county region since 1984. Grants are made to agencies that provide services to promote the HEALTH and WELLNESS of LGBTIQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Questioning) people.

Grants are only provided to organizations qualified as 501(c)3, and will not be given for ongoing operating expenses, capital campaigns, or individual personal expenditures. Note that successful applications will describe a well-conceived project with a defined, measurable outcome in a reasonable timeframe. Recognizing the struggles faced by non-profits to meet administrative costs, BAPHR will allow up to 15% of the grant total to be allocated for these expenses, to be included in the budget as a line item if applicable. No "overhead" costs will otherwise be considered or provided.

Merits of the submitted program/project and the potential for strong positive outcomes will guide the granting of sums from $2500 to $20,000. Renewals of previous grants are possible if the project unequivocally demonstrates progress and continued promise.

All applications must be submitted on-line and must include all required attachments in Word® or pdf format. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Please note the limitations in length; please be concise but complete.

Deadline for application is November 15th, 2007. Responses will be provided by December 15th, 2007.
